Terregator (Robot)
The Terregator, short for Terrestrial Navigator, was one of the earliest autonomous robots at Carnegie Mellon. It was the first fully capable of leaving the lab, completing field testing on campus as well as nearby Flagstaff Hill and Schenley Park. Terregator was also used in subterranean research, going into an educational mine for testing. The technologies present in Terregator helped inform future research, including sensors and technologies later used in the Navlab projects.
