Uranus was third in a line of mobile robots created by the Mobile Robots Laboratory, headed by Hans Moravec. Uranus features omnidirectional wheels, like Pluto, but which were manufactured by Mecanum, Inc. of Sweden to have fixed rollers instead of tires. Uranus also represents a somewhat simplified design from Pluto.
