The Christopher G. Atkeson Collection contains robotics history artifacts and memorabilia collected by Dr. Christopher Atkeson, a professor in Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science and the Human-Computer Interaction Institute. Atkeson’s collection includes projects he led, including during his time at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as well as valuable artifacts from the history of robotics that he saved for posterity. Of particular interest are pieces of Ivan Sutherland’s Walking Robot, also known as the Trojan Cockroach, and examples from popular culture.
